In 1974, Hartman Reed, a native of Halls Hills and one of the original first Black paid firefighters in Arlington County, working at Fire Station No. 8, bought Crown Cab along with his wife, Mary. For the next two decades, Mr. Reed picked up and dropped off people across Arlington and the region. Still a family-run business, Crown Cab continues to serve the Arlington community and DMV region with reliable and efficient transportation service for both local and long-distance rides.
